La Loche Wildfire May 31, 2012


May 31, 2012....2:00 p.m.  
This dangerous wildfire is about one hour old and 1.5 k from La Loche.  
La Loche and area has a population of over 3500 people.



The fire is getting bigger. Winds have fanned the flames.

Photos and videos are being taken.

This was La Loche, Saskatchewan on May 31, 2012. It could have been worse. The fire is now burning away from the village.




2011 Slave Lake wildfire
Last year in Slave Lake, Alberta on May 15, 2011 a forest fire burned a major part of the city.

Sept. 10, 2011....This fire behind the La Loche Arena last year was put out in a few hours by the La Loche Volunteer Fire Department and water bombers based at the airport in Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan.
